actually i wanna ask you

how do you see the IT market back there in ontario ?

i'm thinking of moving there mainly to ottawa


and wanna get a picture of the potential there

Ottawa is Silicon Valley North and that’s where the best prospects for IT jobs are. It depends, though, on what you do. In the telecom area, for example, Nortel just announced the layoff of 3000 people. Alcatel also laid off a bunch so the prospects for telecom are not very good now.

If you are in the business support domain, on the other hand, jobs seem to be available.

But my understanding is that Montreal has a lot of IT work. Why would you want to move?

man it sucks here ... you can manage to find a job but socially it's hard to get along with poeple here ... and i don't feel comfortable with the sovereignist issues and lately with the rising of reasonnable accomodations clash (even though i don't feel targeted ) ... all this makes it hard for immigrants to settle here in the coming years
