Who is Allah?
Many people assume that the God of the Bible and the God of the Koran are the same God—just with different names. However, up until the seventh century when Mohammed announced Allah as the only one true God, "Allah" was the name of the widely worshipped moon god throughout ancient Mesopotamia

The Plain Truth About Islam

Ceasare Farah concludes: "There is NO REASON therefore, to accept the idea that Allah passed to the Muslim from the Christians and the Jews" (Islam, p.28, emphasis mine). We must look for the ORIGINS OF ALLAH AMONG THE ARABIAN DEITIES,and NOT from the Judeo-Christian Bible!

God and Allah
Also by definition, God and Allah cannot be the same, since the recognition of Allah as "sole deity" rules out the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jesus (the last prophet as well as the Redeemer, according to Christians). A fundamental of the Ten Commandments is the injunction by God that there will be no other gods placed before him. To believe that God and Allah are the same is to believe that the Holy Bible and the Koran, the only document in which Mohammed and Allah appear, are both inspired of God, instead of just the Judeo-Christian holy scripture, known more familiarly as the Bible. It is obvious that these two documents have entirely opposite positions vis--vis the recognition and worship of God. Both cannot be right.

Is Allah really The Moon god?
Historical basis of the ‘Moon god argument’
An argument without basis is an argument unworthy of mention. So does the ‘Moon god argument’ have any foundation to which it bases it’s claim’s on? Surprisingly, the ‘Moon god argument’ does have a historical basis, primarily in secular sources, and secondly in Islamic sources, namely the Qur’an.
