"ويشير الكاتب أيضاً إلى أنّ مشروع السلطة يعد أهم مشاريع عرفات بعد الاستثمار الكبير فى الانتفاضة، والذى اعتمد فيه على رجال الأعمال والأثرياء الفلسطينيين الذين ساعدوه فى الماضى على بناء خطوط اتصال مع الأمريكيين.

ورجال الأعمال هؤلاء عرفوا بـ"الروتشيلديين العرفاتيين" وكانوا عونا دائما له، حيث كانوا يستخدمون ثقلهم المالى لتخفيف الأجواء المتوترة والعمل كوسطاء.

ويذكر الكاتب أسماء النخبة المالية المعروفة باستثماراتها ومؤسساتها الكبيرة، مثل منيب المصرى وسعيد خورى وعبد المجيد شومان وحبيب صباغ، وغيرهم...

أهم ملمح فى تجربة السلطة هو أن من وقف وراء المشروع هم رجال الأعمال لا القادة العسكريون والأمنيون للمنظمة مثل أبو إياد وأبوجهاد وأبو على حسن سلامة الذين ماتوا اغتيالا. ومن تبقى من القادة مثل أبو علاء مسئول "صامد"، وأبو مازن مسئول مالية المنظمة يعرفون عدد الأرقام أكثر مما يعرفون الضغط على الزناد، كما يقول الكاتب.

حاول رجال الأعمال جلب عقود استثمارات وشركات للضفة والقطاع مثل شركة من كبرى شركات المياه الغازية، وشركات تنقيب عن الغاز، لكن حدود سيادة السلطة على أراضيها، وموقف المعارضة، وانتشار الفساد والمحسوبية، وحرص عرفات على أن يكون الآمر الناهى فى كل المشاريع، أدت إلى ولادة ما يسميه الكاتب "دولة تحت الأرض" حيث الحسابات السرية غير الحسابات العلنية".

شكرا يا هالة... حتى لو كانت الظواهر التي يصفها الكتاب هي ظواهر معروفة لكنها في الكتاب مقرونة بالوثائق والأرقام مما يحولها من مجرد "خراريف" إلى ادعاءات يمكن التحقق منها. وفي كل الأحوال تكلفة الكتاب الإلكتروني
أقل مما يصرفه بعض أصدقائي على السجائر في يومين... والكتاب باق
