i can understand Arabia Felix's view, just admiring what she thinks of as part of her heritage, the same way i feel whenever i listen to Sabreen band, or Reem Banna, or any Palestinian voice. Yet as much as i would probably admire Ofra or whatever her name is if she were just a jewish Yemeni, i cant even stand hearing her name with the title Israeli infront of it.
by the way, i have met Israelis of arab origins, syrian, yemeni, iraqi, and they were insulted when they were addressed as Arabs, as far as they're concerned they're just jewish Israelis, and being jewish is an "enigma", being jewish makes them better than every other single person on earth. she adopts the Yemeni culture bcoz she doesnt have an alternative, not bcoz she's proud of it.
It's not a questions of logic, humanity, or taste, it's just a feeling, and each person is deffinitely free to feel whatever they like, yet it's important not to delude ourselves into thinking that something pertains to our identity when it doesnt...
