جاء ذلك في رسالة من الرئيس أحمدي نجاد سلمها نائب وزير الخارجية الإيراني سيد جليلي إلى رئيس الوزراء الإيطالي رومانو برودي الذي وصف المبادرة الإيرانية بأنها "التزام بالحوار".

ونقل مصدر حكومي إيطالي عن برودي ووزير خارجيته ماسيمو داليما قولهما "إنه تطلع مشروع أن تسعى إيران ليعترف بأنها قوة إقليمية".

ترجمة فعلية
وقال داليما في مؤتمر صحفي إن "رغبة إيران في الحوار إيجابية وإنه لاحظ استعدادا إيرانيا لإيجاد حلول للسلام والاستقرار" خاصة في أفغانستان والعراق ولبنان والشرق الأوسط, لكنه قال إن هناك حاجة ليثبت ذلك على أرض الواقع.

ودعا المسؤولون الإيطاليون خلال لقائهم جليلي إيران إلى الاستجابة إلى مطالب المجموعة الدولية بخصوص ملفها النووي, وانتقدوا دعوات أحمدي نجاد المتكررة إلى "محو إسرائيل" من الخارطة, وهو "ما لا يبدو متناسقا منسجما مع ما أعرب عنه من استعداد للمساهمة في تهدئة المنطقة" حسب داليما.

لا تحفظات
ومن نيودلهي قال وزير الخارجية الإيراني منوشهر متكي إن بلاده "ليست لها تحفظات حتى الآن فيما يتعلق بالمفاوضات والمحادثات", داعيا إلى تغير حقيقي في السياسات الغربية الحالية في المنطقة وإلا فلن تجدي المفاوضات والمحادثات.

وجاء عرض إيران بعد يوم من إعلان فرنسا وإيطاليا وإسبانيا عن خطة سلام في الشرق الأوسط تتضمن وقف أعمال العنف وتبادل الأسرى، رفضتها إسرائيل بسرعة بدعوى أنه لم ينسق معها, وقالت عنها الحكومة الفلسطينية إنها تستحق الدراسة.

كما تأتي بعد ثلاثة أيام من دعوة رئيس الوزراء البريطاني توني بلير إلى إشراك إيران وسوريا في تهدئة الأوضاع بالعراق, وعرض "خيارا إستراتيجيا" عليهما مفاده التعاون و"وقف تأجيج العنف الطائفي" أو مواجهة العزلة.

وتسعى إيطاليا للاستفادة من موقعها كأكبر شريك تجاري لإيران بالاتحاد الأوروبي ومن علاقاتها التاريخية معها وعدم وجود ماض استعماري بين البلدين للعب دور الوسيط معها ومع حزب الله اللبناني.
