فى رسالة من بن جوريون الى شاريت فى العام 1954 يقول بن غوريون ( ليس لنا ان نفصل الدين عن الدولة ..فهناك وحدة مصير بين دولة اسرائيل والشعب اليهودى )
وهو يستخدم مصطلح الشعب اليهودى كمرادف للدين اليهودى ( فمهوم الشعب هنا هو مفهوم دينى )



هذه الرسالة تشير وضوح تام فى وعى الصهاينة الاوائل باستحالة فصل الدين عن الدولة ( العلمانية) لان مفهوم الشعب هنا هو مفهوم دينى ولا يختلف تماما عن مفهوم الامة الاسلامية بمصطلحات اسامة بن لادن او مصطلح الامة المسيحية فى القرون الوسطى فى اوروبا وقبل نشوء الدولة القومية العلمانية الحديثة

هذه احد الخواص البنيوية للدولة الصهيونية ولا يمكن اصلاحها عدا عن خواص اخرى ..مجتمع الدولة الثكنة...سلطة الحاخامات والجنرالات ..العلاقة الوظيفية ( وهى علاقة حياة او موت) مع المراكز الاستعمارية..والطبيعة الكولونيالية الاستيطانية الخ الخ




الفكر الطائفى فى المنطقة ( مهما كان طبيعته ) يجد نفسه فى حالة تماهى وتشابه مفهومى واحيانا تحالف مع الايديولوجيا الصهيونية) حيث يتم الدمج بين الهوية والمجموعة الدينية



لعل مفهوم القومية العربية واحد من الحالات الفكرية القليلة فى العالم الذى نشا و منذ البداية فى خضم حالة من الصراع مع مفهوم الامة الدينية او الطائفة الدينية او الملة العثمانية..منذ البداية كان اطار عمل ومادة لصق بين المواطنيين على اساس علمانى
حتى علاقة الفكر القومى العربى بالدين كانت علاقة علمانية...حيث حاول علمنة مفهوم الدين وباثر رجعى كجزء من الارث التاريخى للمجموعة القومية
