أنا من دمشق
تقول سهام ترجمان في كتابها يا مال الشام:

أنا من دمشق. بيتي دمشقي. فأين تسكن دمشق؟

نقرت على الأبواب ... أسأل : هل تسكن مدينتي هنا ...؟

و فتحت بيوت الشعر في دمشق و جبال لبنان و القاهرة و بغداد ... و أذهلتني القصور الفخمة التي تعيش فيها مدينتي المدللة, و فتنتني الأكواخ الهادئة المريحة التي تصيف فيها أثيرتي الحبيبة تحت عرائش الياسمين و الورد البلدي و البنفشى و الليلك, تظللها الزهرة العطرة من وهج الشمس و ترش عليها الكلمة الخالدة إكسير الحياة و الديمومة.

نقرت على الأبواب برفق أسأل :

أنا أحب مدينتي .. فمن يحب معي مدينتي !؟

مئات من الكتاب و الأدباء و الشعراء و ملايين من الأناس عشقوا دمشق مثلما أحبتها سهام و هذه بعض مما كتبوا في وصفها و تخليدها.
