مصر تختلف اساسا مع الوضع في ايران قبل الثورة كما حاول الكاتب ان يصور رغم انهما يشتركان معا في سيادة ثقافة الخوف من السلطة التي زرعها السافاك في ايران قبل الثورة و تحول مصر الى اكبر دولة بوليسية في المنطقة بجيش عرمرم من رجال الامن و المخبرين و بقضاء عسكري و نيابة امن دولة تشتغلان بالتعليمات .
النظام المصري ايضا قام بتفخيخ كل الاحزاب المعارضة في السنين الاخيرة و جعلها تعيش ازمات داخلية و صراع قيادات اضعفتها بشكل كبير ( حزب الوفد ،حزب الغد ، حزب الاحرار ، حزب الشعب .....)

ليس بالضرور ولا يمكن أن تكون المقارنة تطابقية لكن الخميني كان واعيا من البداية ألا ينخرط بأحزاب ؛ لأن الوضع القائم مريض ، والأحزاب لا يمكن أن تتنفس فيه بحرية ، لذلك عندما كان بالعراق قبل الثورة مع محمد باقر الصدر ( يعرف بالصدر الأول) مؤسس حزب الدعوة بالعراق رفض الفكرة الحزبية لأنه كان يخطط لثورة شعبية وبالنتيجة نال مراده وتحققت بينما الصدر حوصر بالعراق حتى قتل أخيرا!

فلا معنى بالحديث عن أحزاب تأخذ المبادرة بل بحركة شعبية ثورية تؤسس للأحزاب وحركة كفاية مؤهلة لذلك لو امتلكت الرؤية والقيادة الفاعلتين!
