دمشق: أطلقت شركة جنرال موتورز النسخة الإنتاجية من سيارتها شيفروليه فولت الكهربائية التي يمكن شحنها من منفذ كهرباء عادي تكلفته أقل من سعر فنجان القهوة في خطوة للتخلص من ارتفاع تكاليف البنزين.

وقال المدير التنفيذي ريك واجونر إن "هذه السيارة تعد ابتكارا تكنولوجيا جديدا تحتاجه صناعتنا للتجاوب مع طاقة اليوم والغد والتحديات البيئية".

والسيارة الجديدة عبارة عن سيارة صغيرة بأربعة مقاعد والخطوط الانسيابية ويوجد فيها من الداخل شاشة رقمية باللمس تعرض قياس الوقود وقياس الطاقة المتبقية في بطارية السيارة.

ووصف المدير التنفيذي الابتكار بأنه "سباق مع شركة تويوتا موتورز بشأن من يكون أول منتج لسيارة كهربائية يمكن شحنها من منفذ كهرباء عادي والتي ستطرحها في المعارض في 2010.

ومضت جنرال موتورز قدما في تطوير فولت المصممة لتسير 40 ميلا (64 كيلومترا) ببطارية ليثيوم-ايون يمكن إعادة شحنها من منفذ كهرباء عادي. والسيارة بها أيضا خزان بنزين للرحلات التي يزيد طولها عن 40 ميلا.

وقالت جنرال موتورز إن "السيارة فولت ستتكلف حوالي 2 سنت للميل الواحد لتعمل بطاقة البطارية بالمقارنة مع 12 سنتا للميل باستخدام بنزين بسعر 3.60 دولار للجالون.

وأضافت الشركة أن "فولت ستتكلف 80 سنتا يوميا لشحن البطارية تماما أي اقل من سعر فنجان قهوة

لكن قبل التمتع بهذا التوفير فمن المتوقع أن يكون على المستهلكين سداد سعر مرتفع للسيارة فولت حيث تتراوح تقديرات السعر الحديثة بين 30 ألفا و50 ألف دولار".
