الآدب الصوفى العالمى كله بكل انواعه يرى فى العذاب بحد ذاته لذة كقربانا للمحبوب,فصورة الاله عموما هو الذى يسوق المخلصين الى كل العذابات ليتأكد من أخلاصهم,او ليمحص نواياهم,ودائما مانجد فى التعبيرات الادبية الصوفية تعبيرات متشابهة من نوع ما احلى فى الألم فى سبيلك,مجرد انعكاس لسلوك انسانى ماسوشى يتلذذ بالألم.

فبودا لايرى فى التعذيب وجلد الذات اى طريق للخلاص ,لان تنوره الشخصى حدث عندما توقف عن اتباع هذه الطرق,وبدأ فى سلوك نهج-الاعتدال-ليكتشف ان الآلم حتى لو كان به لذة ما لايقود الا الى نفس النتيجة -الصيرورة-الدائمة,الاستغراق فيما لانهاية له فى عجلة دائرة لاتتوقف عجلة الفعل ورد الفعل..
البوذية لاتنتهج طريق الالم كخلاص ميتافيزقى او فيزيقى بل طريق الاعتدال كمخرج من الصيرورة المستمرة.
