التعليم المجاني في سوريا هو من الأشياء الرائعة، وخصوصاً نوعيته. ولقد سمعت مرة من صديق بالعائلة درس في مناطق البدو عن موضوع الترحال، هو تحدث عنه من موقعه كأستاذ وأن الأمر كان صعباً جداً عليه، ولكن أذكر أنه أعجبني بالأمر اهتمام الدولة بتعليم الجميع بما فيهم البدو الرحل بدون حتى إجبارهم على الاستقرار. هناك مناطق استقر فيها ترحال البدو أصبحوا من الحضر. هل لديك نسب عن تعداد من تبقى في سوريا كبدو رحل؟ حسب ذاكرتي وآخر معلوماتي قبل ذهابي عن سوريا فلقد كانت النسبة بحدود الخمسة بالمائة.

أتمنى ذكر تجربة المصريين حول الموضوع.
فرغم أن هناك من ينكر ذلك ويسيء لدور ناصر في مجانية التعليم، فإحساسي يقول بأن مصر مضت نحو محو الأمية بنفس خطا سوريا وبشكل مشابه وأن ذلك كان من مكتسبات العهد الناصري في مصر.
