نقلا عن جريدة الشرق الأوسط نحكي قصة
كان رجل الأعمال العراقي الراحل مهدي صالح طعيمة معجبا بصاحبة أغنية «الأطلال» الى درجة انه رفض الاقامة بعد الزواج في بيت يختلف عن بيتها في القاهرة، فطار اليها في منتصف اربعينات القرن الماضي، وطلب منها اذنا بان تسمح له ببناء فيلا شبيهة بفيلتها بشارع أبو الفدا بحي الزمالك. وكان له ما أراد حتى انها أعطته خارطة البناء وتوابعها، فعاد التاجر ووكيل اطارات بيرللي ذلك الوقت في العراق الى بغداد وبناها في شارع السعدون بساحة الاندلس ببغداد ، وفيها عاش مع زوجته وأولاده، وفيها توفي عام 1961
وتقول السيدة ساجدة طعيمة ابنة باني الفيلا ان الفيلا مكونة من 18 غرفة نوم، وفيها حديقة جميلة مع نافورة ماء ومرآب للسيارات، وكلها شبيهة بما كان في فيلا أم كلثوم في القاهرة تماما

لكن النهاية لم تكن سعيدة تحول المبني الي مقر الصليب الاحمر الدولي الذي استأجره منذ عام 1990بمبلغ سنوي مقداره 25 ألف دولار أميركي، وفي اكتوبر 2003 تم تفجير
المقر الصليب الأحمر مما أدى الى تدميره
