ما يلي ربما يعطينا فكرة عن تاريخ هرقل للمؤرخ سبيوس:

"النيل والفرات:
يتناول المؤلف دراسته هذه عن سبيوس المؤرخ الأرمني المعاصر للفتوحات الإسلامية لبلاده حيث يصف مشاهداته للأحداث التي وقعت أبان تلك الفترة وصف شاهد العيان المنصف. ويشير المؤلف إلى أن هذه هي أول مرة يترجم فيها باللغة العربية لمؤرخين أرمن، ويتم دراسة مصادرهم التاريخية الهامة دراسة تحليلية نقدية مقارنة ليجد المشتغلون بتاريخ العصور الوسطى بصفة عامة، وتاريخ الأرمن والبيزنطيين والمسلمين بصفة خاصة، ما يمكنهم من الانتفاع بما يقدمه الباحث من عرض وتحليل ونقد للمصادر الأرمنية."

والذي أعرفه عن "تاريخ تويفان" هو أن اسمه تيوفان أو تيوفيل الرهوي وفي كتابه هذا ينقل أحيانًا عن شخص يسمى "جورج الرهوي" ويتعرض لتأريخ الأحداث التي وقعت بين سيدنا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم واليهود في يثرب وفي فلسطين. هذا ما حدثني أحد الأصدقاء بشأن الكتاب المذكور.
