صاحب التفسير هنا يتبنى منهج الطبري في عرض الأراء وغالبًا لا ينحاز لأحدها. لو كان الرجل يرفض هذا الرأي ما أورده. والرأيان هنا ليسا متعارضان إذ يتفقان كما ترى أن القرآن صريح في أن الزوجة هي من "أهل البيت" أحدهما يسكت عند هذا والآخر يقدم مبررًا أنها ابنة عمه. وهو مطالب بإثبات هذا.

في التفاسير الأخرى عبارة "إن هذه وأمثالها مما يكرمكم الله به يا أهل بيت النبوة". والخطاب بالطبع موجه لزوجة سيدنا إبراهيم. وهو ما يتفق مع صريح القرآن أن الزوجة هي من "أهل البيت"
