Dear Skeptic,

It is certainly beautiful to reconcile, but perfunctory peace is no peace at all. Unless we acknowledge point blank the damage that has been caused, it is going to happen over and over again, but in different forms. What this dear brother experienced is actually what I personally had to go through when I first came to this Forum. The person ends up compromising a lot of who they really are in order to be spared from these customary Arab lashes. They plainly want you to say that you are not bound by any religious or national ties and you are there to please. Do you think that could work?! I am afraid not. The reason I take up for this guy is because I see myself in him in many many ways.
