What kind of life do you have in your own country? Are you sociable/ Do you have many friends where you live? Are you religious? You need to answer these questions before I give my take on your question.

I have been living for 20 years in the US,I have two Masters Degrees and have a decent job in the US. I learned a lot as I have been actively working for the last 15 years.

I would recommend living in the US if you are one of the following:

1- You are ignorant, poor and religious back home and from rural areas, then in the US you will be able to have enough food and money and you would think you are rich also you will enjoy practicing you religious beliefs.
2- You are professional and rich back home and need to do gradate studies or professional training in the US then you go back home to make it over there. You may want to work few years to get experience and to save more money before you go back. (This route will take between 4 to 10 years max).
3- Your feel alone back home and no one is there for you then you can come and live forever in the US. You may know only your mother and your married sister back home and when you visit you spent the whole vacation with them and in restaurants.
4- Your think you are very educated, very sociable, atheist and well balanced back home but very poor though. You come to enjoy the freedom that you have been deprived from back home from day one. You do graduate work and find a good job and learn a lot then you give up everything and decide to go back home as you are doing nothing with your freedom and you are living like average Joe loneliness is shortening your life span.

US is the best country in the world for people who were born here mostly and as the Irish immigrants once said immigrants are living dead.
