جمع حكيم أبناءه الثلاثة ودفع برزمة عيدان إلى أقواهم وطلب منه كسرها
استخف الولد الجبار برزمة العيدان أولا
وعزم عليها ثانيا
وضرط وشُرط ولم يستطع كسرها ثالثا

هاب الصغيران الاختبار وقد رأوا ما كان لجبارهم من هوان
فاعتذروا عن النزال وتركوا لحكمة حكيمهم القرار

تناول الحكيم الرزمة بيد مرتجفة وسحب منها عودا ذليلا وفتك به بين أصابعه وقال :
يا أبنائي الأعزاء
لا حول ولا قوة تغنيان عن العقل والحكمة
والحكمة تقتضي أن نعمل العقل قبل أن نعمل القوة
فهل أنتم معقلون ..؟

نعم يا أبي ففي الإتحاد قوة
