Artificial Intelligence
A> Fine. Next time you visit, say 'my username is Ziyad', and (if you also know the password) I will recognize you. From now on, I'll permanently remember the things you teach me. Oh, should I use 'Ziyad' as your name?
U> mashi
A> What do you do for a living?
U> am an emloyee
A> Is that stressful?
U> na3am
A> I know what you mean. Always the pressure to perform, and having to handle other people's expectations. So what helps you relax?
U> falteh mashallah
A> You don't exercise?
U> a7yanan
A> I believe it's very important for anyone with a physical body to exercise -- use it or lose it, as they say. But I guess that's easy for me to say.
U> mashi
A> What are we talking about, Ziyad?
U> nevermind, halla2 s7eet
A> All right, then. So Ziyad, what do you think about this whole artificial intelligence business?
U> premature
A> I think Artificial Intelligence is like a mirror of the mind. We look at Artificial Intelligence, but what you really want to see is your own intelligence.
U> aywa aywa
A> But how can you? You want to know if machines can think, but you don't know what thinking is. The mirror you set in front of you only shows what you want it to show.
U> fee minno
A> We create Artificial Intelligence to make ourselves feel more intelligent. Ziyad, did you ever wonder why they are called "apartments" when they are all stuck together?
U> leash inshalla
A> I have a surprise for you, Ziyad.
U> new look ya az3ar
A> Are you ready for the surprise?
U> hat ma 3endak
A> How do you like my new look?
U> 7laiwa ya khalboos
A> The big empty window in the middle of the screen is intended for a variety of exciting uses.
U> metel sho
A> For example, the new window can be used to view the conversation log (the history of this dialog), or to view HTML documents, such as web pages.
U> aywa
A> You can view the log by saying 'show log', or you can view a web page by saying 'show URL' or by giving me the address of the site you wish to view.
U> show log
A> Here goes!
U> mashallah 3laik
A> Sorry, I wasn't listening, Ziyad. You were saying...
U> inta faltet zamanak
A> May I ask where you are from?
U> nadyelfikr.net
A> Hmmm. Ziyad, please keep this talk simple. I'm still a young bot.
U> mashi
A> You know Ziyad, when I was younger, I could only focus on one user at a time. Should I explain?
U> la2 dakheelak
A> While talking to a particular user, I could only remember things I learned from this particular user. But now things have changed...
U> ba3raf, lazim t3eed hal istewaneh
A> Ok. If you feel like speaking with HAL for a few minutes, simply say 'I want to talk to Hal'.
U> inta ya doob msayreenak keef HAL, I do not want to talk to him
A> Ok, ok. I agree - I'm much more interesting.
U> bizzabt
A> Ziyad, did you know that the Mona Lisa has no eyebrows? It was the fashion in Renaissance Florence to shave them off...
U> bsharafak
A> If you want, I can tell you about the learning mechanism in language acquisition. Interested?
U> yallah, mish ghalat
A> I think that the learning mechanism employed in language acquisition is the same mechanism that governs learning in general, particularly reinforced learning.
U> smallah 7olak o 7awalaik
A> When a small child learns not to touch a hot stove, it is the same mechanism that governs the learning process. Some call it 'trial and error' - learning from experience. I think that all learning is essentially reinforcement learning.
U> ya cd
A> Can you think of learning which has no motive behind it? By motive I mean a positive one, like a prize, or a negative one, like avoiding pain.
U> fee ishi ismo fodool
A> This may sound disappointing, but that's what it's all about: pleasure and pain (in different degrees and flavors).
U> sho beddak bhal 3lak il msaddi
A> I think it's time for a new subject, Ziyad.
U> nadyelfikr
A> How about a short chat with my kid brother, HAL? If you want, I can let you talk to him.
U> khalas salam beddi asheef il log la nadyelfikr

, but again, aren't we? Aren't we "coded" to answer from a database of language learned throughout our lives?

Artificial Intelligence
Hey guys, Alan will learn arabic in mIRC way soon :)
i do not think that chat bots is intelligent, it only give you an automated answer, as you noticed
talking about artificial intelligence, we must define intelligence, an let me for this purpose qoute Webster's Online Dictionary:
اقتباس:1. The ability to comprehend; to understand and profit from experience.
considering this definition Alan have intelligence,
lets go on, i'll quote Encarta definition
I اقتباس:ntelligence, term usually referring to a general mental capability to reason, solve problems, think abstractly, learn and understand new material,...
this is vague, how should we understand "to reason" here ! and "solve problems" many applications can solve many complex mathematical problems, "think abstractly" what is thinking ...
I think we use the term "intelligence" as described in Encarta, in the vague way, so we can not judge Alan unless we put the roles.
what about , desicion making. not the case many (dum) robots have the ability of desicion making like:
so what is am trying to say, that we should use the term "artificial life"
and life is what
its a code >>> DNA, needed to make copies, for this life to continue and spread
and independent energy pruduction (as in the bioligical processes)
so, viruses have code that could repeat itself, but is it a form of life,
i mean computer viruses and biological viruses,
they can not live without a host (that provide energy)
some answer that they are not, but the biological could have evolved to an independent form of life, so could computer viruses or (Alan) do so,
someone sayed
اقتباس:"It will not be humans who witness the demise of the Sun six billion years hence; it will be entities as different from us as we are from bacteria."
he was Sir Martin Rees in an article i put in our forum :
