Rules of the Game for American Press

قاعدة رقم 1 :
في الشرق الأوسط ، العرب دائما هم من يهاجمون أولا وإسرائيل هي من تدافع عن نفسها . هذا يسمى رد فعل مشروع.
Rule No. 1: In the Middle East, it's always the Arabs that attack first and
Israel that defends itself. That's called retaliation.

قاعدة رقم 2 :
العرب ، لبنانيين كانوا أم فلسطينيين لا يملكون أي حق لقتل المدنيين الإسرائيليين . هذا يسمى إرهابا .
Rule No. 2: Arabs, whether Palestinian or Lebanese, have absolutely no right
to kill Israeli civilians. That's called terrorism.

قاعدة رقم 3 :
لإسرائيل كل الحق لقتل أي عدد من المدنيين العرب . هذا يعتبر " دفاع مشروع عن النفس" .
Rule No. 3: Israel has every right to kill as many Arab civilians as it
wants. That's called legitimate self-defense.

قاعدة رقم 4 :
عندما تقتل إسرائيل عددا كبيرا من المدنيين ، فإن الحكومات الغربية تحض على ضبط النفس . هذا يسمى .. "رد فعل المجتمع الدولي" .
Rule No. 4: When Israel kills too many civilians, the Western powers urge
for restraint. That's called the reaction of the international community.

قاعدة رقم 5 :
الفلسطينيون واللبنانيون لا يملكون حق إحتجاز أي جندي اسرائيلي ، حتى لو كان العدد محدودا بثلاثة .
Rule No. 5: Palestinians and Lebanese have no right to capture Israeli
soldiers, even if their numbers are limited to three.

قاعدة رقم 6 :
الإسرائيليون يملكون الحق في إحتجاز أي عدد من الفلسطينيين يرغبون به . أكثر من 10,000 سجين اليوم منهم 300 من الأطفال . لفظ الكلمة السحرية "إرهابي"، هي كل ما يلزم لإلقاء العرب خلف القضبان بدون تهم قانونية.
Rule No. 6: Israelis have the right to capture as many Palestinians as they
wish -- over 10,000 prisoners as of today, of which 300 are children.
Uttering the magic word, 'terrorist,' is all that's needed to throw Arabs behind bars
without charges.

قاعدة رقم 7 :
عندما يذكر "حزب الله" يجب ان تضيف دائما عبارة "المدعوم من سوريا وايران".
Rule No. 7: When you say 'Hizballah,' you should always add 'supported by
Syria and Iran.'

قاعدة رقم 8 :
عندما تذكر "اسرائيل" يجب أن لا تضيف أبدا عبارة "المدعومة من الولايات المتحدة وأوربا" بحيث ييبدو وأن الصراع غير متوازن .
Rule No. 8: When you say 'Israel,' you should never add 'supported by the
United States and Europe' lest the conflict appear imbalanced.

قاعدة رقم 9 :
لا تذكر أبدا عبارات من نوع "الأراضي المحتلة" أو "قرارات الأمم المتحدة" أو "إنتهاك القانون الدولي"أو "إتفاقيات جنيف" والتي يمكن أن تثير مشاهدي التلفزيون وتدفعهم الى طرح الأسئلة .
Rule No. 9: Never mention 'occupied territories,' or 'UN resolutions,' or
'violations of international law,' or 'the Geneva conventions.' That might
perturb television viewers and lead them to ask questions.

قاعدة رقم 10 :
الإسرائيليون يتحدثون الإنجليزية أفضل من العرب. لهذا نحن نعطيهم دائما – هم ومن يدعمون موقفهم- وقت بث أطول .بحيث يمكنهم شرح القواعد السابقة من 1 الى 9 لنا نحن جمهور المشاهدين. هذا يسمى .... "موضوعية" إعلامية.
Rule No. 10: Israelis speak English better than Arabs. That is why we always
give them -- and their supporters -- more air time. That way, they can
explain Rules 1 through 9 to us. That's called media objectivity.

قاعدة رقم 11 :
إذا كنت لا توافق على أي من القواعد السابقة أو تظن انها منحازة لطرف دون آخر، فهذا لأنك خطر وضد السامية .
Rule No. 11: If you don't agree with any of these rules, or if you think
they favor one party over another, that's because you're a dangerous
anti-Semite.
