كبير مفتشي الحكومة الأمريكية يدق ناقوس الخطر:
الولايات المتحدة تقف على منصة محترقة ووضعها الراهن أشبه بمرحلة ما قبل انهيار روما

لندن - ي. ب. أ:
حذِر كبير مفتشي الحكومة الأمريكية من أن الولايات المتحدة تقف الآن على "منصة محترقة" من السياسات والممارسات التي لا تطاق المسببة لعجز الميزانية والنقص الحاد في الرعاية الصحية والهجرة وتزايد الالتزامات العسكرية الخارجية التي تهدد بإندلاع أزمة ما لم تتخذ إجراءات علاجية رادعة.

وقالت صحيفة "فايننشال تايمز" الصادرة أمس إن هذا التحذير ضمِنه المراجع العام للحكومة الأمريكية ديفيد ووكر في تقرير اصدره عن مستقبل بلاده وقارب فيه وضعها بوضع روما القديمة قبل احتراقها وانهيارها. وأشار إلى "وجود أوجه تشابه لافتة للنظر بين الوضع الراهن للولايات المتحدة والعوامل التي قادت إلى سقوط روما".

وأوضح ووكر أن التشابه "يتضمن انحدار القيم الأخلاقية والنشاط السياسي داخل الولايات المتحدة، والثقة المفرطة بالنفس، والمبالغة في نشر القوات الأمريكية في الأراضي الأجنبية، والتفريط في إنفاق المال العام من قبل الحكومة المركزية".

وانتقد ووكر السياسات التي تنتهجها حكومة بلاده في التعليم والطاقة والبيئة والهجرة والعراق وعدها غير ثابتة، مشدداً على أن الولايات المتحدة ستحتاج إلى مليارات الدولارات لتحديث كل شيء في بنيتها التحتية.
