هل يمكننا ان نعتمد على العقل؟
أني أتسآل اذا لم نعتمد على العقل فهل لدينا وسيلة آخرى نعتمد عليها ؟
ان العقل المقصود هنا هو التفكير المنطقي المؤسس على العلم - والقضية العلمية هي قضية قابلة للاختبار أو التحقق أما الطرح اللاعلمي الميتافيزيقي فهو طرح عبثي غير قابل للاختبار أو التحقق وهو ناجم عن وسيلة عقلية آخرى هي التفكير الخيالي والوهمي .
فالعقل بمفهومه الكلي يحتوي على كل انواع التفكير ( المنطقي - العاطفي الانفعالي - الخيالي الوهمي )
ان الدين هو نتاج عقلي لتفكير خيالي وجد للاجابة على قضية الوجود التي طرحها التفكير المنطقي وقد اوجده(أي الدين) التفكير الخيالي لاخماد الحاح هذه القضية على التفكير المنطقي لعدم وجود اجابة منطقية في تلك الازمنة . اي أنها وسيلة دفاعية ( تسكين مؤقت أو أفيون ) لتحقيق التوازن النفسي
خلاصة أن الدين وكل القضايا الميتافيزيقية هي نتاج عقلي لتفكير خيالي ليس لها أساس واقعي بعكس التفكير المنطقي المرتبط بالعلم ( والعلم هو الوسيلة التي توصل لها العقل للتغلب على نواقصه وهو الذي أوجد الحراك في الحياة للتطور والتقدم ( مثلما أشار اليه الزميل beautiful mind ) أما لو كان ظل الانسان أسير التفكير الخيالي لوحده لكان ما زال يعيش في الكهوف
