أما أخلاق المصريين فبعضها شبيه ببعض، لأن قوى النفس تابعة لمزاج البدن، وأبدانهم سخيفة سريعة التغير، قليلة الصبر والجلد، وكذلك أخلاقهم يغلب عليها الاستمالة والتنقل من شىء إلى شىء والدعة والجبن والقنوط والشح وقلة الصبر والرغبة فى العلم وسرعة الخوف والحسد والنميمة والكذب والسعى إلى السلطان وذم الناس ».

كتبت عن ضرورة رؤية ماسبيرو من الزاوية التى ينظر منها الاقباط , كيف يتكوّن القبطي في المجتمع المصري , كيف يشعر القبطي تجاة تاريخه , حاضره و توقعاته للمستقبل , و الان ساذكر شيئا عن (اصل كل الشرور ) .

عرف مجتمعنا تغييرات عديدة , فمن مجتمع فلاحين الي عساكر في جيش ( محمد علي ) بعد التجربة الخطيرة التى قام بها قبطي من اعماق مصر .... (( المعلم يعقوب )) , ولا ادافع عن موقفه , فانا شخصيا لا يمكنني مضغه , انما تراوحت مواقف المفكرين تجاهه ما بين مؤيد ( نعمات احمد فؤاد \ لويس عوض \ محمد شفيق غربال ) على سبيل المثال , و رافض له مثلما هو متوقع من اي مصري , انما لا سبيل لانكار ان (يعقوب ) ظل في فكر (محمد علي ) حتى قام محمد على اخيرا بتجنيد المصريين في الجيش .
ثم كانت الثورة الصناعية , و دخلت السكك الحديدية مصر بعد ( المملكة العظمى ) مباشرة , بدأت المصانع تنتقل الي مصر توفيرا لنفقات الانتقال , و شيئا فشيئا ظهرت المجتمعات الصناعية , و نبتت المدن وسط القرى و العزب .
يمر بعدها المجتمع المصري بهجرة داخلية هائلة من الريف الي المدينة , تغيّر من اخلاق المدن و الريف معا , و ذلك قبل ان تمر مصر بمرحلة عودة المهاجرين من الخليج , فلا تجد الا ( الكشري ) مثالا للتركيب المصري الحالي , و لكن الامر ليس هكذا دائما

لو نزلت الي اي قرية من قرى مصر , لعرفت انهم اكتشفوا اكسير الحياة , نفس حياة الفلاح الفرعوني هي حياة الفلاح المصري , فمازال الفلاح يستخدم الفأس و يشير بحسد شديد الي صاحب ( الجرار ) و مازالت الساقية ذات ( الجاموسة ) تنافس الماكينات في رفع المياة لتوصيلها الي الحقول الزراعية , و نظرة بسيطة الي اخلاق الفلاحين ستعرف كيف تمكن المصري من التعايش , بل و حتى التديّن بدين كل الغزاة , و ذلك دون ان يفقد اي ذرة من خصائصه التركيبية !

ستعرف كيف خرج المصريون لتحية (قطز ) فلما عاد (بيبرس) وحده قاتلا صديقه , استعمل المصري الهتاف الخاص بقطز ...تحية لبيبرس !

عندما تنزل الي القرية , و تدرك كل هذه الخصائص , فعليك ان تتوقع لماذا يتغيّر المصري العائد من ( الخليج ) بهذا الشكل الذي ربما يفوق ( الخليجيين ) انفسهم , و لادركت لماذا لا يعود ( القبطي ) من مهجره !

الفارق الحضاري رهيب , و بينما تلتهم المجتمعات الحضارية مواطنيها , فان المصري بامكانه التهام كل تلك الحضارات , و مع ذلك يبقى مصريا , هل تريد ان تعرف السر وراء رغبة الرواد في تطبيق الشريعة الاسلامية , السبب انهم عجزوا عن اللحاق بالحضارة

هذه هي اقوال ابائهم , فماذا انتم فاعلون ؟
